Each second life piece has a different origin story – some have come to us through Sustain, The Senator Group’s recycling centre, some through The Senator Group’s own manufacturing outlet, and some we have refurbished or remanufactured.

It is unacceptable to us that perfectly good furniture is still being sent to landfill. It’s estimated that in the UK alone, this waste equates to 670,000 tonnes per year.
Just because a business changes its corporate colour scheme, or that fashions or needs change, that shouldn’t be an excuse for being wasteful.
We welcome furniture that would otherwise be wasted. Our technicians give every piece a thorough inspection, before advising whether it needs to be repurposed, refurbished, remanufactured or recycled. Every piece of furniture or individual component we release can then live on in the circular economy.
How we source our furniture
Ex-subscription & Hire
We will take back any unused, discarded, or end-of life furniture to restore and repair. We can also repair any furniture on subscription.

We have taken existing stock items and unwanted customer orders to be able to offer brand new products that would have otherwise been recycled.

Re:work is a service born from The Senator Group’s commitment to protect people and planet. A commitment that has been in practice for almost 50 years.
Because The Senator Group designs, manufactures, installs, delivers and recycles, it formed its own circular economy well before the phrase was in common use. Each product designer is tasked with using as little componentry as possible, and to include materials from sustainable sources.
The Senator Group is the only furniture manufacturer in the UK to have its own recycling facility – and it recycles not only its own waste and end-of-life furniture, but that of others too. Through ‘Sustain’, materials live on; within refurbished furniture, to make new furniture, or even to make decking and underground pipes.
Re:think. Reimagine.
Some of our second life furniture is still in perfect condition, but some pieces show signs of general wear and tear. This furniture goes to our team of designers and engineers to be reimagined, retaining much of the value of the original, and in some cases repurposing recycled components to use in its restoration.
